About Us

Kilkenny Road started as a notebook — scribbled observations from pubs, roads, and kitchen tables across Ireland and beyond. It became something more when we realised other people were looking for the same thing: honest writing about Irish culture that doesn't lean on cliché or nostalgia.

We write about pub life because the pub is where Irish culture lives and breathes. We write about food because the table is where families and communities come together. We write about travel because the Irish have always been a people in motion, carrying their traditions into every corner of the world.

The site is written and edited by Padraig Dunne, with occasional contributions from friends and fellow travellers. Padraig grew up in Kilkenny, spent a decade abroad, and came back with a deeper appreciation for the things he'd taken for granted.
